A Poem for Dress Shirt Guy

Hello, Dress Shirt Guy.
I see you on my way to work,
running in your dress shirt,
just past the corn field by the road.

Why must you be so proper?
Did they make fun of you as a child?
Do you have a ghastly scar?
Are there not T-shirts your size?

Where could you be going?
Are you on your way to work,
an important meeting,
a job interview?

Why must exercise be so formal?
Don't you have a jogging suit?
a tank top,
a sweatshirt?

Or are you fooling someone?
pretending to dress for work
walking out the door with your brief case,
throwing it in the woods as you begin to jog?

Does your wife know you jog in your dress shirt?
Are you fooling your children,
your grandchildren,
perhaps the family dog?

Are you happy, dress shirt guy?
Running in your Ralph Lauren,
or perhaps Cardin or Old Navy?

Run along, old dress shirt guy
I'll watch you from my car,
and wonder every day
if I should try it, too.

Step 1. Remove the peel



Step 2. Chop off the stem.



Step 3. Stand the mango up on the flat end you created by removing the stem.



Step 4. Slice away the flesh, being careful to not slice into the core. If you feel resistance or hear a crunching sound you're cutting into the core.



Note: parrot may regard mango with suspicion.

Chimney Bluffs

Possible things to do today:

1. Nerd it up in front of the computer
   
2. Sit on couch, watch TV, nap, and eat
3. Get some exercise and possible take some cool pictures.
   

I chose #3 and went to Chimney Bluffs State Park, near Sodus Point, NY.

I spotted this dinosaur on the side of Interstate 4 heading from Orlando to Tampa.

I planted a sunflower in front of my office at work. It's starting to open up!

Village Clock

Pittsford post clock at 8:00 AM. You can see how this clock was made Here. The clock has a built-in GPS receiver to set the time, and optical sensors to know where the hands are so it can accurately set the motor-controlled pointers.

They erected a new sign in front of Park Point, listing all the stores that are allegedly going in:

"Just to **** me off"

This is my our new dishwasher being installed. On the outside of it (the part that's in the cabinet) is a quilted wool blanket. The blanket came with the dishwasher. I asked the installer, "What's that for - noise, heat, or both?" He answered: "To piss me off, to be honest with you."

RoadRunner DNS redirect

I was unhappy with the RoadRunner DNS redirect "service" they installed in Rochester a few weeks ago. It turns out they did incorporate a facility to disable it:

It didn't ask me for my account login/password so I assume it's doing its magic using just your IP address. It said it could take up to 5 minutes for your preferences to take effect, but for me it was immediate.

The roadrunner "search" page to which they redirect you is pretty useless. Now I'm back to having bad or partial URLs redirect to Google (as my browser is configured to do), and I'm happier.
